Uniform

Winter Uniform

Girls

  • Navy blue dress or navy skirt (COMPULSORY)
  • Navy blue bootleg trousers (OPTIONAL)
  • All girls must have a school skirt or pinafore dress for formal occasions whilst bootleg trousers are an option for the colder weather. Dates for wearing trousers are between October 1st and the last day of the lent (spring) term.
  • Plain light blue blouse
  • School Tie
  • St Michael’s sweatshirt or cardigan
  • Navy knee socks or tights
  • Black or navy shoes (flat heel and secure not ‘ballet pump style’. No trainers)
  • Black or navy ankle boots may be worn in the colder, wetter winter months but these must be plain leather with no studs or buckles (“Ugg” style boots are not permitted).

Boys

  • Mid-grey school trousers
  • Plain light blue shirt
  • School tie
  • St Michael’s sweatshirt or cardigan
  • Grey socks
  • Black or navy shoes (no trainers)
  • Black or navy ankle boots may be worn in the colder, wetter winter months but these must be plain leather with no studs or buckles

 

Summer Uniform (Easter to September)

Girls

  • Dark blue check regulation school dress or playsuit
  • Years 4-6 girls only may wear a St Michael’s polo shirt with their regulation school skirts
  • St Michael’s sweatshirts or cardigan
  • Navy or black shoes (no slip-on shoes or sandals)
  • Plain white ankle or knee socks

Boys

  • Mid-grey school shorts
  • St Michael’s polo shirts
  • St Michael’s sweatshirt or cardigan
  • Dark grey socks
  • Black or navy shoes (no sandals)

Girls

  • Pale blue polo with St Michael’s logo
  • St Michael’s Navy sweatshirt or cardigan
  • Navy pinafore or navy trousers in the winter (1st October – end of Lent (spring)Term
  • Navy checked dress or playsuit in the summer
  • Navy socks or tights in the winter and white socks in the summer
  • Sensible black or navy school shoes (not trainers).
  • Black or navy ankle boots may be worn in the colder, wetter winter months but these must be plain leather with no studs or buckles

Boys

  • Grey trousers in the winter and grey shorts in the summer

  • Navy shorts or skort

Outerwear

  • Dark colour coats or jackets, not cord or denim
  • Plain Navy blue/Black woollen hats, scarves and gloves
  • Navy cagoules or lightweight waterproof coats which can be carried in their school bag in case the weather changes before home time.
  • Blue sun-hats with school logo or a plain sunhat must be worn in the summer months
  • Hair bands, clips ribbons etc.. Must be navy or white. 

Jewellery

  • No jewellery to be worn apart from:
  • Stud earrings – small plain studs may be worn but must be taken out or taped during PE.  Only one stud per ear permitted
  • Digital or analogue watches may be worn from Year 3. No Smart Watches or watches that enable phone calls and internet access.

Long hair below the shoulder must always be tied back and hair accessories should be navy or navy and white. Hair must be a natural colour and haircuts should not be shorter than a grade one. Haircuts should be of a similar length all over and no extreme styles will be permitted, for example no Mohican style haircuts and no shaved patterns or stripes cut into short hair. No make-up should be worn in school. Pupils who arrive at school incorrectly turned out may be sent home.
