Aylesbury Secondary

Extra Curricular

At St Michael’s Aylesbury site, we have an exciting array of enrichment opportunities. Our enrichment timetable enhances the children’s opportunity to develop our core values of Achieve, Love, Faith and Community.

Achieve – Our extracurricular offer develops students learning through direct links to academic courses. For example, the RE department debating club, maths and Science club. Students can also achieve on the sports pitches, where the PE department have a broad offer of team and individual sports suitable to the season. Students are selected to represent the school for sports fixtures following regular attendance at enrichment.

Love – Our extracurricular offer enables children to develop a love and passion for their chosen subjects. All of these opportunities are designed to enable children to find an interest that they grow to love.

Faith – Our chapel run events and activities every day of the week. This includes: Christian Union, Catch Up Prayer, Bible reflection,  a Multi Faith prayer area that is used daily and targeted work with Aylesbury Youth for Christ and CAFOD.

Community – We also offer a number of opportunities for children and young people to develop their sense of community. This can be seen in our Manga and Boardgames Club, which has proved a runaway success since launch, as well as the Warhammer club that meet after school on a Friday, and our Just Dance and Jamaican Dance Club which allows St Michael’s students to explore West Indies culture.

Extracurricular clubs take place at lunch time and after school, and we encourage all students to attend at least one club per week.

Enrichment is free and students are able to “drop in” to try out new activities each week.
